Micromax India has launched a 10.1 inch version of its popular tabled Funbook, called the Funbook Pro in India on 17th August 2012. The 10 inch version is priced at Rs. 9999 which is quite an aggressive price for a tablet of this size. The only downside of this tablet is slightly lower resolution and lack of SIM car support. However, it does support external USB 3G dongles like Tata Photon which come free bundled with it.
Along with the Funbook Pro, Micromax has also launched a series of smartphones called Micromax Superphone Canvas aka A100 and Micromax Superphone Pixel aka A90 with 5 inch and 4.3 inch screen size respectively. The larger phone Canvas which is a 5 inch version is priced at Rs. 10,000 while the smaller one A90 is priced at Rs. 12,990 which is because of the more vibrant super AMOLED. These phones have solid specs and great performance compared to the other phones in this price segment.
Micromax also launched its budget phones Micromax Ninja 3.5 and Ninja 4.0 which are priced very aggressively too. The small wonders are priced at Rs. 4999 and Rs. 5999 respectively. These phones have most the specifications same except for the screen size and rear camera resolution. These phones are expected to give tough competition to the entry level phones like Samsung Galaxy Y.
