DigiTimes reports that OmniVision Technologies has secured orders from Apple for 5-megapixel camera sensors destined for the next-generation iPhone. Sources report that the OmniVision is expected to supply Apple with 40-45 million sensors in 2010 for the new iPhone, reportedly set to launch in the second half of the year.
The rumor was published in DigiTimes, a Taiwanese publication and the published report claims that OmniVision is set to supply a 5-megapixel camera for the next-generation iPhone. The news has not been confirmed or disagreed so take this as a rumor, even if the source (digitimes) has always been reliable
Lets see what happens, if it is coming out with 5 Megapixel camera it would be a major upgrade for iphone series and users will like it.
