Recently there was a worm discovered which could infect all the iphone’s which has the default password [ alpine ] for the root partition, some of the iPhone users in Australia reported their iphones getting infected with this new worm.
This worm changes your iPhone wallpaper to a picture of 1980s pop singer and internet meme Rick Astley. The worm targets users who have jailbroken their phone but have not changed their default root login password [ alpine – default root password ]
So in order to secure your iphone you would need to change the default root password, here is how to do it.
Open Cydia and search mobileterminal
click to install MobileTerminal
click Install, after installation run mobile terminal , type su root
type the password as alpine
type passwd and type in the new password two times and that’s it done
Note: Enter the new password which you can remember later also, after changing the password your iphone is protected from this worm attack.
