Step By Step Guide To Use Pwnage Tool To Jailbreak iPhone / iPod With 3.1.3 Firmware
First requirement to use this tool is that you must have Mac OS X to run this tool as its not yet released for Windows (if you don’t have Mac OS, you need to wait sometime until windows version comes).
Before starting the following steps, connect the phone to iTunes to take complete backup of your iPhone data.
- Download Latest Version of iTunes , Download 3.1.3 Firmware and download the Pwnage Tool 3.1.5. Save all these three tool in a folder named jailbreak for easy access.
- Start the Pwnage Tool 3.1.5 and Select your Device
- Now it will give you a prompt saying “Do you have an iPhone contract that would activate normally through iTunes?” Click NO and proceed. This is very important, because pressing Yes will not let you unlock your iPhone.
- Pwnage tool will create a custom firmware.
- Click on Phone icon from iTunes sidebar and now press and hold “Alt” key and click on Restore button in iTunes and then release “Alt” button. Now select custom iPhone 3.1.3 firmware .ipsw file when iTunes prompt.
- Let the upgrade complete with this custom firmware, after it completes and your iPhone reboots, it will be jailbroken.
