Yesterday we got the iphone tripod mount for review from G Design LLC who designed this great iphone tripod mount holder to hold your iphone 4, 3gs or 3g while recording a video with your iphone.

They call it the iphone 4 holder officially

This holder has additional soft pads that create a snug fit for the new iPhone 4 while still fitting the G3 iPhones. If you have the original 2G iPhone, 3G and 3GS iPhones, please select the 3G/3GS holder which does not have the soft pads.

The iPhone holder is made from sturdy ABS plastic and features durable brass threads for a secure attachment to tripod mounts. This version adds two soft pads to the inside of the standard holder to provide a snug fit for the slimmer iPhone 4, see the close up photos below.

If you are planning to use it with your iphone 4, there may be slight resistance when initially inserting the iPhone 4.  The resistance will decrease over repeated use as the iPhone seats itself against the pads.

Yes, you can now mount your iPhone as a local drive under windows, using free application called iPhoneFS which is based on WinFUSE that allows you to see the iPhone as a drive in Windows explorer, or any Windows.

It works by using the AFC service on the iPhone and mapping it to CIFS server functions, making you iphone seem like a network drive.

Note: This application is still in alpha stage so it might crash also while you try to use it, but don’t worry a stable version will be released in some time.

iH8Sn0w, the developer of Snowbreeze has just released a cool tool for all those people who want to know about how to jailbreak and unlock their iphones and ipod touches after upgrading to the latest firmware.

He has developed and released a tool called Forecast for all iphone 3gs, 3g, 2g and ipod touch 3g, 2g, and 1g users. This tool tells the iphone and ipod touch users everything about the jailbreak and unlock.

It will provide all the information needed to do jailbreaking and unlocking iphone and ipod touches. It detects your iphone or ipod touch and tells you the status of your iphone or ipod touch, it also tells you whether your iphone can be jailbreaked and unlocked at the current firmware. [ as shown in the image below ]

It displays the serial number of your device, baseband version, boot loader, and model number, more over it is also tells you whether it can be unlockable and gives you the name and link to the tool required to unlock, tells you whether you device is tethered or not. At the bottom of the application it display the current firmware of your iphone or ipod touch connected.

Note: Make sure to run this tool after connecting your iphone or ipod touch to your computer.

Once you get the required information you can use the tools like redsn0w and Pwnage tool to jailbreak iphone and ipod touch and then unlock your iphone with the required tool.

We have recently posted about how to jailbreak iphone 2g on 3.1.3 with redsn0w, and if you want to do it with custom firmware you can use Snowbreeze to to jailbreak iPhone OS 3G/3GS 3.1.3 

Recently Pwnage Tool 3.1.5 has been released recently by iPhone Dev Team and it finally allows you to jailbreak both iphone 3g and 3gs. It will help you create a custom firmware using the original downloaded 3.1.3 firmware and it allows you to upgrade your firmware without updating the baseband.

However this tool is only available for Mac OS and if you are using windows you are out of luck, hopefully this tool will be released for windows too, till then you can use the sn0wbreeze tool which does the same [ but more buggy ].

Apple has recently released 3.1.3 firmware for iphone and ipod touch, and iphone dev team has released redsn0w 0.9.4 which can jailbreak 3.1.3 firmware on iphone 2g and other old models iphone 3g , ipod touch 1g and 2g. But we suggest you should upgrade to 3.1.3 on your iphone 3g or 3gs till the iphone team releases a tool for the unlocking these devices.

Redsn0w 0.9.4 right now can only jailbreak however it can’t unlock since iPhone 3.1.3 firmware will upgrade baseband to version 05.12.01 which makes it impossible to jailbreak & unlock iPhone 3G & 3GS. If you don’t care about unlock and want to jailbreak only then go ahead and download redsn0w 0.9.4 & jailbreak your iPhone 3g also with 3.1.3

Redsn0w 0.9  has been recently released by iPhone Dev Team for windows and Mac OS, it can do jailbreaking, unlocking and customisation of iphone UI – that means you can change the boot logos, recovery logos and verbose boot.

Right now Redsnow 0.9 beta 3 is released and it supports all iphones and ipod touches except ipod touch 3G, this tool is made to work on Windows and Mac OS [ x86 ] and it works for firmware 3.0 and 3.1.2, Once this tool is out of beta it will support iPod touch 3G, PPC OSX, and Linux.

Note: For Late Models iPhone 3GS, or if you have an iPod touch 2G whose serial number begins with “MC”, you can use redsn0w to jailbreak but you are currently restricted to “tethered” rebooting. That means you need to connect your device to a computer to complete the boot after a reset and these devices cannot have custom logos.
