BSNL (Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited) is the largest public sector telecom company in India and is the first among the India telecom service providers to launch 3G data services.
MTNL (Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited) is another public sector telecom company which operates in Delhi and Mumbai. MTNL provide 3G services in Delhi.
In this article I will share the manual 3G settings for Apple iPhone for BSNL and MTNL.
As MTNL and BSNL have not officially launched iPhone on their 3G network, so the iPhone does not come with pre-installed settings for BSNL or MTNL. Even if you try to get the automatic settings via SMS, you may not find iPhone compatible automatic settings from BSNL / MTNL.
If you are using an unlooked iPhone which can support BSNL/ MTNL SIM card, you have to add manual APN settings.
For APN Settings, go to
Settings > General > Network > Cellular Data Network
Here you need to add the APN settings for BSNL / MTNL. If you the “Cellular Data Network” option is missing in your Network settings, then you need to enable the APN settings for your iPhone by following this tutorial – Enable APN Settings On Jail-broken iPhone
BSNL 3G APN Settings For iPhone 3G / 3Gs
In cellular data setting, set the following
APN – bsnlnet
leave all the remaining fields blank on this screen, save and exit. Reboot your iPhone once and you will be connected to 3G data service of BSNL. [Source – Megaleecher.net]
MTNL 3G APN settings For iPhone 3G / 3Gs
For postpaid Dolphin subscribers
In cellular data setting, set the following
APN – mtnl3g
Username – mtnl
password – mtnl123
For prepaid Trump subscribers
In cellular data setting, set the following
APN – pps3g
Username – mtnl
password – mtnl123
leave all the remaining fields blank on this screen, save and exit. Reboot your iPhone once and you will be connected to 3G data service of MTNL. [Source – Forumz.in]

the settings are only working on edge…but when i use 3g it says activate cellular data…
please help

Talk to the customer care and ensure that 3G data plan is activated on your connection.
it is activated as i use the very same sim on my nokia…i’m able to browse on 3g network
These settings are for all other mobile phones other than iPhone. For iPhone these settings do NOT work. So the issue is still unresolved.
you need to maintain a balance of Rs 200 to use 3g on the Jadoo card
also make sure u SMS ACT 3g to 444
from your Iphone
it sitll hasnt worked for me , but i seem to be progressing , it doesnt work indoors in southdelhi , so i will try it in CP tomorrow
