by abhishek bhatnagar on October 7, 2012

BenQ as most of us know are known for their monitor and projectors, but recently they launched some new point and shoot camera in india. BenQ GH200 camera is one point and shoot camera which is a 14 Megapixel camera, we got a chance to test the camera photo and video quality and we were really impressed by this basic but really good camera with comes at a decent price of around Rs. 9500 INR which is entry level pricing but its really good value for money in this price range, read on further to know why.

Build Quality:

As far as the build quality is concerned, it does have black plastic with a chrome bezel around the edge of the camera, but at this price you cant expect much and considering the price its ok on the build quality criteria.

Design:

Design wise BenQ GH200 does not bring a any revolution, its just like any other point and shoo you see, but when you use the full zoom on the camera then you will see the big lens which comes out and then you see how 14 megapixel fit in during the image sampling and then you see the 12.5x optical zoom in action. One thing which we did not liked was the power button on the top center which is quite difficult to press some times as the button is inside the chrome bezel body, I used my finger nail to access it, people with thick fingers might face some issues with it.

Ease of Use:

This camera is best for people who are not into professional photography and just want a point and shoot camera and want auto settings to take care while they are shooting. This camera is provides a 2.7-inch LCD screen for framing a shot and reviewing it which seems really sufficient in size and shows all the options of the camera. It allows you to shoot HD videos at 1080p with ease and you can also take a self shot quite easily and you do have the features like self timer for family shots in auto mode. It does give you the option to shot video with one button to start and stop the video recording which really makes quite easy to shoot videos.

Pictures Quality:

When we took the picture in low light, they seemed quite granny with little noise in those pictures, but over all image quality was decent enough, in bring sun light and day light pictures we took were quite good in colors saturations and another good thing is that this camera has the image stabilization on all the times in all the modes which makes it more easier for layman users and get good picture quality.
