by Rohit on October 4, 2012

Akai has launched a smart TV Box (an Android based TV box) called the Akai Smart Box in India at a price of Rs. 6590 which is one of the most affordable smart TV boxes on sale in India. Besides being the cheapest, it has got some very strong points which makes it stand out of the crowd, the first and foremost feature being the AV output which means that the Akai smart box not only works with modern LED and LCD TVs, it also works with old CRT TV which don’t have HDMI input. The AV output connects to most of the old CRT TV sets and you can convert any idiot box into a smart box using the Akai Smart Box.

Another strong point is that it works with 2G and 3G USB dongles for Internet connectivity, and supports both GSM and CDMA networks. This is a feature which other smart TV boxes don’t offer. Third unique feature is that you can create a WiFi hotspot using the Akai smart box which can convert your normal LAN or USB Dongle connection into a WiFi connection so it works like a small router.
